Free Secret Santa Generator
DrawSage is a free Secret Santa generator built for real groups: add everyone, set a budget, block couples from drawing each other, and run a fair random draw. Each person sees only their own match on a private link, and unlike most organizers, even the person running the draw can't see who has whom. Then the AI suggests gifts from your recipient's wishlist.
How it works
- Create a draw and set your budget.
- Share one join link in your group chat.
- Add exclusions (partners, managers) if you need them.
- Run the draw — everyone opens their private reveal link.
- Use the wishlist and AI gift ideas to shop.
What makes a good Secret Santa generator
A generator has three jobs: make the draw fair, keep it secret, and make it easy for everyone to take part. Fair means every person gives exactly one gift and receives exactly one, nobody draws themselves, and your rules (like "spouses can't draw each other") are always respected. Secret means nobody, including the organizer, can look up the full list. Easy means people can join from a chat link in seconds, without creating an account or installing an app.
DrawSage does all three. The draw is a random assignment that is checked against every exclusion before it's saved. If your rules make a valid draw impossible (for example, three people who each exclude each other), you get a clear message instead of a broken result where someone ends up without a recipient.
How the privacy works
Every draw has three kinds of links. The join link is the one you share in the group chat. The organizer link lets you manage participants and exclusions and run the draw, but it never shows assignments. Each participant gets a private reveal link containing a long random code. Only someone holding that exact link can see that person's match and wishlist.
We don't need your email, we don't send marketing mail, and we don't sell data. If you'd like to keep a copy of your link, bookmark it or save it in your notes app. It works like a password.
Beyond the draw: AI gift ideas
Drawing names is the easy part; figuring out what to buy is where most people get stuck. After the draw, your reveal page shows your recipient's wishlist and an AI gift panel that turns their wishlist, interests, and your group budget into eight concrete ideas with shopping links. You can add extra hints ("loves hiking, hates clutter") and refresh for new ideas. When the AI service is unavailable, a curated, budget-aware list is used instead, so you always get suggestions.
Who uses it
- Offices and remote teams running an opt-in holiday exchange
- Families who want one great gift each instead of buying for everyone
- Friend groups, roommates, book clubs, and classrooms
- Anyone running a matched gift exchange for birthdays or other holidays
Why a generator beats pulling names from a hat
Paper slips feel festive, but they fail in predictable ways. Someone draws their own name and the whole group re-draws. A couple ends up buying for each other. The person who couldn't make the meeting gets whatever slip is left, and the organizer has to text their match to them, which means the organizer now knows a pairing. A generator fixes all of that at once: it never assigns anyone to themselves, it respects the pairs you exclude, and every person gets a private link that only they can open.
DrawSage also keeps the organizer out of the secret. You can see who has joined and whether the draw has run, but the management page never shows who has whom, so the organizer gets to play too. If someone loses their link, they can reopen it from the same device, or you can resend the join link and they can check their own result.

Yes. DrawSage is free with no account or app download.
Can I stop couples from drawing each other?
Yes. Add exclusions like “Alex must not draw Sam” before you run the draw.
Can the organizer see who has whom?
No. The organizer page never shows assignments; each person sees only their own match.
How many people can join?
Any group from 2 people up — families, offices, and friend groups.
Do people need email?
No. Email is optional; everyone gets a private link they can bookmark.
Is the draw truly random?

Yes. Set both when you create the draw; they appear for everyone and guide the AI gift ideas.
Does it work in other countries?
Yes. The draw works anywhere. Gift links currently point to Amazon US.
Is there a limit on group size?
No hard limit. It works for 3 people or 100.
