DSDrawSage

A Secret Santa App With No Sign-Up

Most gift exchange apps make every participant create an account, which is where half the group drops off. DrawSage works with just a name. The organizer gets a private manage link, and each person gets a private reveal link. That's it.

How it works

  1. Organizer creates a draw (about 30 seconds).
  2. Everyone taps the join link and types their name.
  3. Organizer runs the draw.
  4. Each person opens their own link to see their match, a wishlist, and gift ideas.

How privacy works without accounts

  • Every link has a long random secret in it; only the person with the link can see that page.
  • The organizer can manage the draw but can never see who has whom.
  • Bookmark your link. It's your "login."

What you don't need

  • No email address (it's optional)
  • No app store download
  • No password
  • No credit card. It's free.

Why sign-ups kill gift exchanges

Every extra step loses people. When an exchange requires everyone to create an account, confirm an email, and log in, a good share of the group never finishes. The organizer then spends a week chasing stragglers. A no-sign-up app removes that friction: if someone can tap a link and type their name, they're in.

DrawSage also doesn't require an email address at all. That means no confirmation emails stuck in spam, no marketing newsletters afterwards, and nothing to unsubscribe from in January.

What you give up (and what you don't)

Without accounts, there's no password reset. Your private link is your access, so bookmark it. You still get exclusions, budgets, wishlists, AI gift ideas, and private matches. You also don't need to install anything: DrawSage works in any phone or laptop browser.

No sign-up, compared

Many exchange apps now market themselves as "no sign-up", but some still ask participants for an email to deliver results, and some let the organizer see every pairing. Before you choose, check two things: does anyone need to hand over an email address, and can the organizer see who has whom? With DrawSage, the answers are no and no. See our factual comparisons with Elfster and DrawNames for details.

What 'no sign-up' really means here

Plenty of tools say they're free, but participants still have to create an account, confirm an email address or install an app before they can see their match. DrawSage asks for a name and nothing else. The organizer gets a private management link, each participant gets a private reveal link, and those links are the only keys. There is no password to forget and no marketing email list to unsubscribe from.

The trade-off is that links matter. Keep your private link somewhere safe, bookmark it, or reopen it from the same device later. If you lose it, rejoin with the invite link from the same device or ask the organizer to check whether you're listed.

Privacy at a glance

  • No accounts, passwords or email required to join.
  • The organizer cannot see who has whom.
  • Only names and optional wishlist items are stored.
  • Join pages are not indexed by search engines.

Who no-signup works best for

Groups with mixed tech comfort benefit most. Grandparents, new colleagues and friends of friends rarely want another account, and every extra step loses people before the draw even runs. With only a name to enter, nearly everyone who taps the link finishes joining. Organizers spend less time chasing confirmations and more time actually planning the exchange, which is the reason most groups switch to a no-signup tool in the first place.

FAQ

What if I lose my private link?

Ask the organizer. For now, links can't be recovered automatically, so bookmark yours or save it in notes.

Is it really free?

Yes. Some gift links may be affiliate links, which costs you nothing.

Does it work on iPhone and Android?

Yes, in any modern browser.

Is my data sold?

No. We store only what the draw needs: names, wishlists, and assignments.

Do I need to download an app from the App Store?

No. It runs in the browser; you can add it to your home screen if you like.

Will I get marketing emails?

No. We don't collect email unless you choose to enter it, and we don't send newsletters.

Can the organizer recover my link?

Not yet. Please bookmark it or save it in your notes.

Is it safe to share the join link publicly?

The join link only lets people add themselves. Share it with your group, not on public social media.

What happens to our data after the exchange?

DrawSage stores only participant names, optional wishlist items and the draw settings needed to show each person their match. There are no accounts, emails or payment details involved, so there is very little to worry about once the exchange is over.
